Afro Samurai=BAD ASS.

This was an experiment drawing in a different style, and using a little bit of my own. The Hair was a journey in itself.

Done completely in PS CS3 bout 5 hours and lots of Life cereal.

EDIT: well since this was such a hit with everyone, I have uploaded the Redone version here since the new afro samurai is out.

I'm just running through your images, leaving some feedback where I may.

I agree with the other comment about the frame. Mhm, I'd like to see a more interesting (but not overwhelming) background instead of the frame. I've never watched this show (surprise surprise) so I can't say anything cool about your style on him. He looks like a badass though. I love the texture on the bandages(?) and his clothes. His hair is pretty awesome in itself as well and the contrast on his face is great - I love the depth. His outline seems a bit harsh against the background and I find the shadows around him to be distracting - I don't know what's making them or why they are there. (I can't tell where the light source is.) His headband seems strikingly much brighter than everything else as well. It makes me think it's important for a reason other than keeping the awesome hair out of his face when pwning n00bs. I like the orange paint brush marks on the right side and think that would look good if it carried over to the left side of the image, rather than blend it.

Kind of sleepy and a lot of rum in my system.

I absolutely love the style! this is my favorite Afro Samurai painting by far ;)
Wish you would remove the frame though, but other than that it is totally amazing :D

The only fault I can give this is that the orange square border doesn't seem to do much for the picture. The picture goes beyond that border so it just seems more like it's blocking part of the picture.

Otherwise this is great
