Steel Jawed Duncan Stage 1 by SharpWriter Steel Jawed Duncan Stage 1 by SharpWriter
Stage one concepts for Steel Jawed Duncan a character from the lawless universe.

He has a cybernetic jaw and arms that have made him more of an outlaw. Hes the fastest gun in the world now essentially, he carries 2 modified six shooter pistols with custom ammunition.

I'd like everyone's input as to their favorites of the three so I can move onto the next stage, I also have one more idea that came to me on the way home that I will have to post.

anyways, Conceptualizing practice to beef up my knowledge and portfolio so I need everyone's help and input.

Thanks Pals :)

I prefer #2 as he's a lot chunkier and solid-looking, fitting in with the idea that Duncan is a tough cyborg outlaw. #1 and #3 look too streamlined and effeminate to be gunslinging half-robot cowboys.

#1 with #2's hat...give him a longer poncho.

I like #2 but you can't see the arms. He's more mature. Not some young punk with an upgrade.

#3 he's looks scraggly and gangly...looks like he lost his arms and jaw being wreckless not through hardship and experience.

More middle-aged and 6'2" 205lbs or convert to kilos and cm.

numba two is just sooo bad-ass. I say him with a bandanna around his neck, #1's hat, and a vest(short sleeved and without the skirt part) instead of the coat. Great work as usual.

I think so far the most popular is the first one with some tweaks. But I do like 1 as maybe thats what he wears as an overcoat.

i cant choose between 2 and 3
i think maybe if u did 2 only with less armor (it'll make him look less protected) and i think he should definitely have long sleeves cuz then he looks easier to kill and then ..BAM! hes got steel arms!!!! lolz (if u know what i mean!)

Dope. I'd go with the middle; It's the most regal.

not bad sir. he definitely needs to be really tall though. like at least equal to Dash's in helmet height. That way he will feel more sinister, more dominant.

#1 sticks pretty close to our original design as far as the hat and clothing which I still think are all badass. try #1 with that poncho thing extending down to his knees or so in the back. Also, I liked the arms better when they were all elastic band/piston built.

I like #1 most. The second is also good, but looks like a Johnny from the "Nightmare on the Oaks street")) The third looks like a necrozombie or other kind of undead creature))

I like two the best, however the hat from one is my favorite of the hat solutions...He is an intriguing character and I don't know anything else about him other than this description so if you have other images/descriptions, sorry if I'm mentioning anything thats already been gone over...

Anyway, a guy like this seems he wouldn't want to give away is arm, as I don't think those around him are like him [Robotic] so the lack of sleeves seems contradicting to me, but if you do want to go without sleeves, the machinery doesn't look as if it's had to put up with the extreme conditions of the Wild West, as in rust, or scarring from dust etc....

And I know steam punk is so last whatever, but I still think some bronze and gears, or steam exhaust form his joints would add some character...

Also maybe consider designs in his metallic limbs, much like how pistol's handles from that era often had intricate designs in them..I just think that could be cool, but could be dumb, meh, up to you on that...

But a very good start...hope my ideas are helpful, wether you want to look into them or if you now know what NOT to do :P

Fun to say though...

Good stuff.

Aye, the style of world is more a sci-fi world and he just happens to be a western type character. His arms will have some wear on them, but they are cybernetic and built by Sebastian industries so they are meant for a lot of wear and tear. Thanks for the input and keep an eye out.
